The Patient Care Assistant (CNA) provides nurses (LPN and RN) with assistance in performing daily activities such as caring for residents. The major duties and necessary tasks of a CNA include taking care of several residents, respecting and upholding Resident Rights, providing personal care and assistance with daily tasks, assisting nurses in admitting, transferring, and discharging residents, administering treatments and tests under the guidance of a nurse, and assisting with restorative and rehab care with proper instruction and supervision. It is also important that CNAs arrive at work on time and consistently demonstrate reliability and punctuality.

CNAs should also have the ability to make independent decisions and work in harmony with colleagues.

• Caring for a group of individuals residing in the housing complex.
• Observe Resident Rights
• Offer personalized care and support based on individual needs.
• Work with the nurse to ensure that the resident's rights and privacy are respected throughout the admission, transfer, and discharge process
• Monitor the overall condition of residents and report any changes in their health status to the nurse in charge
• Enhance patients' recovery process by providing proper guidance and supervision during restorative and rehab care
• Demonstrate reliability and punctuality by consistently arriving to work on time as scheduled.

The training program usually consists of both classroom instruction and hands-on clinical experience:

• A valid certification to work as a Nursing Assistant must be held and maintained in the state where the CNA practices.
• Capability to decode, encode, articulate, and interpret the English language.
• The aptitude to make determinations on your own when the need arises.
• Showing the capability to interact amiably with coworkers.
