In order to perform their job duties, a CNA must have a current and valid CNA license in the state where they work. They should also possess good communication skills in English, as well as the ability to work with coworkers in a harmonious manner.

• Ensuring the health and safety of multiple residents living in the facility.
• Observe Resident Rights
• Support activities of daily life, ensuring that individuals maintain their dignity and autonomy.
• Collaborate with the nursing team to ensure that the resident's medical and personal needs are met throughout the admitting, transferring, or discharging process
• Help maintain accurate medical records, including documentation of treatments and medications given
• Collaborate with medical professionals and other healthcare providers to design and implement customized rehab programs for patients with diverse needs
• Be punctual for work and reliably exhibit a consistent level of dependability.

Some employers may prefer candidates with previous healthcare experience, while others may offer on-the-job training:

• The possession of a legal and valid Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in the state of practice and employment is obligatory.
• Competence in understanding, reading, writing, and articulating English.
• The skill to make unaided judgments when necessary.
• Having a congenial personality that facilitates successful teamwork is crucial.
