The main responsibility of a Registered Nurse (RN) is to provide high-quality patient care by administering medication, monitoring vital signs, and communicating with doctors and other healthcare professionals:
The RN must develop and execute nursing strategies for patients/residents undergoing long-term and/or restorative treatment.
RNs also provide emotional and psychological support to patients and their families, helping them cope with the physical and emotional challenges of illness:
- Delivers patient-oriented care according to the rules and standards established in the Nurse Practice Act, facility policies and procedures, and sound nursing judgment.
- The nursing staff has the responsibility of assessing, developing plans, and evaluating the quality of nursing care delivered to patients in long-term or rehabilitation care.
- Offers nursing support to patients who require extended or restorative care.
- The caregiver must implement the patient's or resident's care plan and assess their response to it.
- Leads and directs the nursing care provided by other healthcare workers.
- Assists in the crafting and assessment of evidence-based care standards.
- Stays up-to-date on necessary documentations needs.
- Has an excellent grasp of the setup, maintenance, and usage of different types of medical equipment, like monitors, infusion pumps, and drain tubes.
- Maintains the confidentiality of all sensitive information related to patients, residents and other personnel.
- Educates, informs, and educates patients, residents, family members, and caregivers as appropriate and according to established standards.
- Complies with unit and facility policies, behaving professionally.
- Abides by the designated schedules for rotating shifts, weekends, and holidays, without any deviation.
Required Education and Experience for RNs:
- Successful completion of a professional nursing basic education program is necessary to be eligible for this opportunity.
- Applicants must have at least one year of experience in medical/surgical nursing, either in an acute care hospital or in a long-term care setting (with a preference for experience in acute/critical care).
- A reliable means of transportation is imperative to the job's requirements.
