It is essential for CNAs to have a commitment to learning and continuing education to improve their skills:

• In order to practice as a nursing assistant, a current and endorsed CNA license in the state of employment and practice is necessary.
• Proficiency in the use of the English language in speaking, writing, reading and comprehension.
• The proficiency to take independent actions in specific situations.
