Surfpoint Recovery is a leading-edge treatment center for substance use disorders (SUD) located in Coney Island, Brooklyn, NY. We are OASAS-licensed and CARF-certified as a Center of Excellence. Our facility offers a range of services, including inpatient detoxification, withdrawal management, stabilization, and rehabilitation for individuals with substance use issues. The Assistant Medical Director works in conjunction with the Clinical Director and Program Director to facilitate individual therapy, develop treatment plans, manage cases, advocate for clients, provide counseling, and respond to crisis situations.
Schedule: Friday through Tuesday, 10:00 AM - 6:00 PM
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with the Clinical Director and Program Director to create, implement, and assess services and programs.
- Work alongside the Clinical Director, Program Director, and counseling staff to establish a seamless continuum of care for program participants.
- Assist in managing the daily operations of the counseling staff.
- Ensure that all counseling staff receive appropriate training on the therapeutic curriculum employed with clients.
- Supervise the assessment process for newly admitted patients and help clinical staff schedule treatment activities, assign caseloads, and monitor their performance.
- Collaborate with the Program Director and Clinical Director to review all clinical documentation, performing regular quality assurance evaluations to ensure accurate record-keeping.
- Conduct chart reviews regularly to ensure compliance with governing regulations and timely documentation.
- Participate in meetings called by the Clinical Director and Program Director, engaging in discussions about program revisions and enhancements while offering recommendations.
- Assist in monitoring quality assurance and improvement initiatives, providing suggestions for corrective actions to the Clinical Director and Program Director.
- Ensure provider operations comply with federal, state, and local regulations regarding family-focused, trauma-informed mental health services in the inpatient treatment community.
- Provide both individual and group counseling sessions and engage in case conferences.
- Conduct individual supervision sessions with counseling staff.
Requirements:
- Master's degree preferred; Bachelor's degree required.
- Licensed in New York State as a qualified health professional (QHP), such as CASAC, LMHC, LMSW, LCSW, LCAT, or other relevant certifications.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in a comparable setting is preferred.
- Experience in one-on-one supervision of clinical staff is also preferred.
